Your Teen Will Love Invisalign® Treatment
At Travers Orthodontics, we want our teen patients to be excited about starting their journey towards straighter teeth, and Invisalign for Teens helps us do that. Invisalign doesn't use brackets, wires and bands like traditional braces.
Invisalign created a system that meets the unique needs of teens. At your first consultation, Dr. Travers will be able to determine if Invisalign for Teens is the best option for your unique smile.
Invisalign for Teens is an orthodontic appliance made especially for teenagers. It is comprised of two plastic clear aligners that are custom-fit to your teen’s mouth and teeth. Invisalign, an alternative to braces, will slowly move your teen’s teeth to the desired position.
The aligners put gentle pressure on the teeth to gradually shift them into a straighter, more functional position. Every two weeks, your teen will receive a new set of clear aligners to continue the shifting process.
The Invisalign for Teens aligners are made of clear plastic and almost invisible. Your friends probably won’t even know you’re wearing them. Instead of hiding behind a mouth full of metal, Travers Orthodontics Invisalign patients enjoy the confidence of showing off their smile every day.
You probably have friends with braces who aren’t allowed to chew gum or eat certain foods like popcorn and whole apples. With Invisalign for Teens, the aligners are completely removable, so you can eat all of your favorite foods whenever you want.
This also means you can easily keep brushing and flossing as you normally would for proper oral hygiene. Try that with braces.
Whether you play sports or a musical instrument, traditional metal braces can present some new challenges. It’s hard to perform at your best knowing you could get hit in the mouth with a ball, or cut your lip trying to hit that note on the trumpet!
Invisalign for Teens helps you focus on doing what you do best—being a teen. At your initial consultation with Dr. Travers, you’ll find out if Invisalign is a good fit for your smile and your lifestyle!
Benefits of Invisalign for Teens
Perfect for Busy Schedules
Invisalign for Teens treatment is ideal for busy parents in Irving, Dallas, Coppell, and surrounding areas because there are never any emergency appointments from broken wires or brackets. Invisalign often requires fewer appointments than traditional metal braces because you get your Invisalign aligners in advance, and each visit requires less "chair time."
The typical Invisalign for Teens patient sees Dr. Travers once every 8 weeks for a total average treatment time of 9 to 15 months.
Great for Active Teens
Invisalign for Teens effectively straightens teeth the same way metal braces do. Invisalign for Teens is an ideal choice for teens in Irving who play sports, play certain types of instruments, love crunchy foods, or are worried about how metal braces will look at homecoming or in the yearbook.
As a teenager, you should be able to participate in the activities you’re interested in while still having the confidence to attend social events and make lasting memories. You should also be able to get efficient orthodontic treatment for crowded teeth, uneven spacing, and bite issues.
With the clear, comfortable technology of Invisalign, and Dr. Travers’ expert care, teens can keep being themselves and love their smiles even more.
Doesn't Cost More than Traditional Braces
Many parents believe Invisalign for Teens is more expensive than traditional metal braces, however, that is not the case today. For most teens, the prices are quite comparable and most dental insurances also cover Invisalign Teen.

Talk to Us About Invisalign
In order for the orthodontic treatment to work properly, your teen should wear the clear Invisalign aligners for a minimum of 22 hours per day. They should only take the aligners out to eat, drink, brush and floss, and for the occasional sports activity.
At Travers Orthodontics, we understand that the occasional mishap may occur and your teen may lose or forget their aligner somewhere. For these situations, simply call our office in Irving, TX and request a replacement aligner. Depending on when your teen loses their Invisalign aligner, we may choose to move onto the next aligner set anyways.
Like with traditional braces, Dr. Travers will recommend Invisalign patients to wear a retainer after treatment to maintain your new alignment—and your confident new smile.
Invisalign may not be recommended for some complex alignment or bite issues, or for those who have bridgework; Dr. Travers can advise you about what options are best for you.
