Invisalign® treatment with Dr. Kimberly H. Travers and the team at Travers Orthodontics can give you beautiful straight teeth without braces.

Perfect Smiles With Our Irving, TX Invisalign Treatment

At Travers Orthodontics, we pride ourselves on the excellent orthodontic treatment we provide to children, teenagers, and adults living in Irving, Texas and the surrounding areas of Dallas, Coppell, Valley Ranch, and Farmers Branch.

We love perfecting smiles and providing our patients with the individualized care and superior service they deserve!

We understand that one of the main reasons many adults and teens don’t want to get braces is because of the stigma associated with conventional metal braces. Some people would rather not undergo orthodontic treatment at all if they have to be treated with visible braces that are cemented to their teeth for several months.

That’s why we offer our patients many types of discreet braces including Irving, TX clear braces and the nearly invisible Invisalign clear aligners that so many of our patients love!

The Invisalign Process

Invisalign works to straighten your teeth without any wires or brackets, using a series of clear, customized, and removable plastic aligners. The aligners are virtually undetectable, which means that most people won’t even realize that you’re improving your smile.

And the removable nature of the aligners means your treatment will be very convenient. You can take the aligners out when eating and drinking and when performing oral hygiene.

You can even remove them briefly for those special occasions like job interviews or school and family photos, as long as you put them right back in when done.

Invisalign is much more comfortable than traditional metal bracket braces and can give you stunning results.

At your initial consultation at Travers Orthodontics, we'll take photos and X-rays to create a 3D image of your mouth. We make your first set of custom-fitted aligners from these images, and then you begin the process of straightening your teeth.

You’ll start to notice a change in just a few months!

A Modern Approach

The Invisalign System revolutionized orthodontics because it did away with the need for using metal brackets, bands, and wires to move teeth. Even though Invisalign aligners look completely different from regular braces, they actually work in much the same way as braces as the aligners put gentle, constant pressure on the teeth to move them into their most optimal positions.

While Invisalign can be used to treat many different types of mild to moderate orthodontic problems, it cannot be used to treat more complex problems. The only way to find out if you can be treated with Invisalign is to visit us for a thorough exam.

If Dr. Travers tells you that you have a problem that can be successfully treated with Invisalign aligners, then we’ll proceed and get you started right away!

At your first appointment to get Invisalign, we’ll take some detailed images of your teeth that Dr. Travers will use to plan out your treatment. Once she has carefully devised your detailed treatment plan, she’ll send the plan along with the images we took of your teeth to the Invisalign lab to have your custom aligners made.

When your aligners arrive at our office, we’ll have you come in to pick them up so you can begin your treatment. We’ll tell you to wear each set of aligners for about two weeks and to keep them in your mouth for at least 22 hours each day.

Once the two weeks are up, you’ll simply move on to the next set of aligners in the series, and so on, until your treatment is finished. Once you’re done wearing Invisalign, you’ll be left with a healthy and attractive smile you’ll be thrilled to show off wherever you go!

Differences Between Invisalign & Braces

Unlike traditional braces, smooth plastic Invisalign aligners don't have metal components that can irritate your mouth.

Because they’re removed when you eat, you won't have to watch what you eat like you would when wearing braces – bring on the popcorn and peanuts.

In fact, the aligners must be removed for eating and for drinking anything other than water. You need to make sure you’re willing to do that before you decide on Invisalign clear braces.

To prevent staining, you’ll need to clean your teeth before putting the aligners back on after each time you eat.

Of course, brushing and flossing are much easier than with traditional braces, since you don’t have to work around any brackets and wires.

Talk to Us About Invisalign

It’s important to wear your aligners for at least 22 hours each day, as recommended by Dr. Travers so they can do their job and straighten your teeth. But, with Invisalign, you can remove your aligners for special occasions.

Like with traditional braces, you’ll generally need to wear a retainer after Invisalign treatment to maintain your new alignment—and your confident new smile.

Dr. Travers may not recommend Invisalign for some more complex alignment or bite issues, or for those who have bridgework; Dr. Travers can advise you about what options are best for you.

If you’re excited about Invisalign and want to find out if you can improve your smile discreetly and conveniently with clear aligners, please request an appointment with us today.

During your first visit to our office, Dr. Travers will examine your teeth and bite to let you know if you make a good candidate for our Irving, TX Invisalign treatment.

We look forward to seeing you soon and helping you achieve the straight and healthy smile you deserve!  Also, follow our social for great Invisalign pictures of our amazing patients.
